Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, recently expressed her commitment to American workers and domestic production through a series of tweets. Kaptur emphasized the importance of rebuilding the nation by restoring manufacturing jobs and focusing on rewarding work rather than financial speculation.

On June 20, 2025, Kaptur stated "I’ve never stopped fighting for the people who do the hard work. We cannot rebuild this nation unless we restore what was taken from us. That means making things in America again. That means rewarding work, not speculation from Wall Street or money centers on the coasts." Her message highlighted her ongoing advocacy for policies that support American manufacturing and labor.

In another tweet posted shortly after, Kaptur reiterated her stance by saying "Reviving production isn’t impossible—it is vital and necessary. Because you cannot pay for the future on a hollowed-out foundation. Real wealth is built by the bodies and hands that clock in, not spreadsheets and formulas that pinch pennie’s for corporate profits." This statement underscores her belief in the essential role of physical labor over financial maneuvers in building sustainable economic growth.

Finally, Kaptur reaffirmed her dedication to serving her constituents with a tweet asserting "I keep one simple truth at heart each and every day—I work for The People of NW Ohio—and I won’t stop that work, no matter how hard the Billionaires and big corporations try to stop me." Her words reflect a steadfast commitment to advocating for Northwest Ohio residents against powerful economic interests.

Kaptur's long tenure in Congress began when she succeeded Ed Weber in 1983. She was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a BA in 1968.
