Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, shared her views on social media regarding her commitment to her constituents and the potential economic impact of policy changes.
On June 21, 2025, Kaptur emphasized her dedication to serving the people of Northwest Ohio in a tweet: "I keep one simple truth at heart each and every day—I work for The People of NW Ohio—and I won’t stop that work, no matter how hard the Billionaires and big corporations try to stop me."
Later that day, she addressed concerns about the possible repeal of solar energy tax credits. In another tweet posted on June 21, 2025, she stated: "If solar energy tax credits are repealed, Ohio stands to lose Billions in Private investment. If we don’t keep jobs of the future at home—we risk giving them away to China for generations. I want these jobs in NW Ohio—not overseas. Now it is up to our Senators to do what is".

Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and continues to reside there today. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968.
