Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 9th district since 1983, recently posted a series of tweets addressing national economic policy and local arts initiatives.

On September 4, 2025, Kaptur criticized recent fiscal proposals associated with former President Trump, writing: "The Committee For a Responsible Budget estimates Trump’s Big Bonanza Bill for Billionaires *might* boost growth by 1%, but only in the short term. The following day, on September 5, she commented on new employment data: "This month's job report is a stark warning: The Trump/GOP tariffs and tax policy continue to cause chaos, drive up costs, and lead to massive job loss. 78,000 job losses in manufacturing alone since January! https://t.co/hjED1fUn76".

Shifting focus to community engagement on September 7, Kaptur expressed gratitude toward local cultural organizations: "Access to the Arts is vital to a thriving community. I want to thank the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts for inviting me to an open house today at the Toledo Center for Live Arts. Kaptur has represented Ohio’s 9th District in Congress since succeeding Ed Weber in 1983. She was born in Toledo in 1946 and continues to reside there. Her educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968.
