Marcy Kaptur highlights agriculture outreach and community initiatives in recent posts

Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a senior member of the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee and U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 9th district, recently shared updates on her work with local farmers, community service efforts, and advocacy against domestic violence through posts on social media.

On September 7, 2025, Kaptur highlighted her engagement with agricultural stakeholders in Fulton County. She stated, "Informing my work as a senior member of the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, our Fulton County farmers provide important feedback on rising cattle costs, production, and other agricultural issues. Later that day, she described her participation in a meal-packing event benefiting children across Northwest Ohio communities. In her post dated September 7, 2025, Kaptur wrote: "At Connecting Kids To Meals we helped pack over 3,000 meals for children across our NW Ohio Communities. Thanks to @ToledoMTennis and @ToledoWTennis and so many volunteers, we are lifting our kids up for a good start to the 2025 school year. https://t.co/dJW9otjsj1".

Addressing social issues on September 8, 2025, Kaptur condemned remarks related to domestic violence: "We cannot allow ourselves to let this kind of speech or thinking to become normalized. Domestic violence is no joking matter. The sentiments expressed here are repulsive. https://t.co/OIaTiQz3RE".

Kaptur has represented Ohio's 9th District since succeeding Ed Weber in Congress in 1983 and is recognized as one of the longest-serving members from Ohio.

She was born in Toledo in 1946 and continues to reside there at age 76.

Kaptur graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968.
