Oakdale Ave. Railroad Grade Crossing Closure in the City of Oregon

The City of Oregon, in cooperation with the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) and CSX Transportation (CSX), proposes to permanently close the railroad grade crossing at Oakdale Avenue to all traffic. The purpose of the project is to improve safety for the traveling public. Additionally, ORDC and CSX will provide incentive funding for the complete reconstruction of the Pickle Road railroad grade crossing.

Traffic will be permanently rerouted via Sunshine St. to Woodville Rd. / SR 51.  Access to properties on the east side of the CSX railroad line will be maintained from eastbound Woodville Rd. / SR 51.

The proposed closure is planned to be in place by Spring of 2023 following completion of reconstruction work at the Pickle Rd. grade crossing.

The project is being coordinated with the City of Oregon and CSX Transportation.
