The City of Green Student Municipal Representative Program (SMRP) was created in 2016 under the direction of Mayor Gerard Neugebauer. The program seats students entering grades 10 through 12 as non-voting members on City boards, commissions, and committees for a one-year term from September to May. The city will begin accepting online applications for the 2023-2024 class February 1, 2023.
The goal of SMRP is to provide exposure to the leaders and processes of Green’s local government. The hope is that this experience will inspire the students toward meaningful community involvement and leadership throughout the course of their lives. As part of the Student Municipal Representative Program, students also have the opportunity to serve in various volunteer roles that support city programs and events.
Applicants must be residents of Green. The deadline to apply is March 1. For more information and to access the online applications visit cityofgreen.org/StudentRep.
