Washington, DC – On April 18, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced a $400,000 matching grant award to the Toledo Museum of Art. This infrastructure and capacity building grant awarded to the Toledo Museum of Art is one of 258 projects selected nationwide by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to generate private support for local humanities projects. This project to improve plumbing facilities at the Toledo Museum of Art will be funded through a $400,000 NEH grant, in addition to $400,000 in local matching funds. Last month, Congresswoman Kaptur hosted her 41st annual Congressional Art Competition in partnership with the Toledo Museum of Art. Additional information from the NEH can be found here.

“This investment in the Toledo Museum of Art will bring welcomed improvements to facilities that bring so much joy to people every day,” said Rep. Kaptur. “This federal matching grant will serve as a catalyst for further investment and underscores the rich legacy for the arts that our region enjoys. As a strong supporter of the arts and their potential for economic advancement in our area, it is an honor to support federal assistance such as this to help our institutions improve their facilities so the public can enjoy their offerings. The Toledo Museum of Art is an unparalleled regional jewel and its leadership is to be commended for competing for federal resources to ensure its accessibility for future generations to come.“

“The Toledo Museum of Art is grateful to the National Endowment for the Humanities for their support of our vital infrastructure project to upgrade the Museum’s plumbing,” said Adam M. Levine, the Toledo Museum of Art’s Edward Drummond and Florence Scott Libbey Director. “We appreciate Congresswoman Kaptur’s ongoing advocacy for the arts in her district.”
