The 2023 Disabled and Proud Fest welcomes those of all abilities to celebrate the disability experience in Toledo! Community Partners including The Ability Center of Greater Toledo, Sight Center, Deaf Services Center, Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, University of Toledo Disability Studies, and Metroparks Toledo will share inclusive resources and activities like service dog demonstrations and face painting to name a few!

The festival will feature a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for both youths and adults Saturday, July 8, at 9:00 a.m. Anyone with or without a disability can come together and compete for a championship title! Wheelchairs will be provided courtesy of Adaptive Sports Ohio.

A double elimination tournament will be held downtown at Levis Square. The City is looking for 14 adult teams to register to play from 9:30 am-1 pm and for 14 youth teams to register to play from 1:30 pm-5:00 pm.

Winning teams will also be able to participate in the Adaptive Sports Ohio All-Star game following the tournament. We encourage everyone to give wheelchair basketball a try.

Register your team of 3-5 people by June 23rd at: toledo.oh.gov/disability-pride in order to be eligible to participate in the wheelchair basketball tournament. Participants will receive a voucher for their preferred food truck, water, and an event T-shirt.

In addition to teams registering for basketball, we are also looking for volunteers for the festival! If you are interested, visit toledo.oh.gov/disability-pride.
