Connecting Toledo Neighborhoods to Opportunity (RAISE Grant)

  • Total award: $20,000,000
  • Approx. 6.5 lane miles of roadway on 38 city blocks will be reconstructed or resurfaced
  • 1000+ street trees will be planted
  • 160 new street lights will be installed
  • Various water/sewer and pedestrian safety improvements (high-visibility crosswalks, curb extensions, and streetscaping)
  • 0.75-mile protected multi-use path connecting Junction and Uptown

RE-TREE Toledo (Urban and Community Forestry Grant)

  • Total award: $6,098,294
  • 10,748 new trees total will be planted over 5 years:
  • 7,250 street trees in the 10 census tracts with the lowest amounts of tree cover in Toledo (nearly a 10% increase in total street trees citywide)
  • 700 trees in City of Toledo parks
  • 750 trees on publicly owned vacant lots, in partnership w/Land Bank
  • 1,648 trees in Metroparks
  • 400 trees for residential properties and a “tree ambassador” program in partnership w/Keep Toledo Lucas County Beautiful
  • 500 dead, dying, or diseased trees and stumps removed
  • A paid summer training program in urban forestry for 56 TPS students from disadvantaged communities, with an employment opportunity as City seasonal workers after completion, in partnership w/Woodlawn Foundation and Toledo Public Schools
  • Educational programming for 1,600 K-12 students and 40 community events, in partnership w/Keep Toledo Lucas County Beautiful

Raw Water Main Design (H2Ohio Grant)

  • Total award: $2,463,591.16
  • raw water main provides safedrinking water to over 500,000 residents of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan
School-Based Violence Interruption (OCJS Grant)

  • Total award: $1,064,143
  • Serves 4 high schools with a combined 2,565 students
  • 8 full-time staff providing and supporting school-based violence intervention and prevention services
