Sec. of State Frank LaRose (R-Ohio), who is running for U.S. Senate, made stops in northwest Ohio to speak with voters about important issues. He stopped in a local restaurant to voice his confidence against Democrat candidate Sherrod Brown.
“I had a great conversation with voters at American Table Restaurant in Perrysburg,” LaRose said. “Ben, the owner, and his family know what it’s like to run a small business in Biden’s crushing economy. I told him we need to restore sanity in DC and get our spending under control.”
At an event in Bowling Green, LaRose spoke with members of the Bowling Green Republican club. He said he was the most qualified GOP candidate to have a chance at winning the seat, and his position of Secretary of State proved he could win a statewide election. LaRose also stressed issues of border security and responsible spending, according to an article from the Toledo Blade.
LaRose is running in Ohio’s March 19, 2024 Republican primary for U.S. Senate. The winner will challenge Democrat Sherrod Brown, who is running for his fourth term.
His opponents are State Sen. Matt Dolan (R-Chardon) and former auto dealer Bernie Moreno of Westlake.
LaRose represented Summit County in the Ohio State Senate (2011-2018) before being elected Ohio Secretary of State in 2019. He previously served in the U.S. Army, where he was a member of U.S. Special Forces as a Green Beret, and earned a B.S. from the Ohio State University.
An Akron native, LaRose, 44, lives in Columbus with his wife and three daughters.
