The reconstruction of Lewis Ave. has been delayed due to the discovery of a culvert beneath the road. Construction is paused during the winter and will resume this spring.

As construction was underway, our contractor discovered what was initially believed to be a pipe under the road, but turned out to be a culvert crossing. During excavation, it was determined that the culvert was too shallow for the road to be rebuilt over it. To ensure safety, lanes were restricted until a structural design could be created to lower the culvert and complete the necessary repairs.

Unfortunately, this process extended beyond the construction season. We understand the inconvenience this has caused and sincerely apologize for any disruption. We want to assure you that we are committed to completing the project as soon as possible.

Despite the challenges faced, work will resume on Lewis Avenue in early April once the weather permits the resumption of construction activities. We are optimistic that the project will be completed in June.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to address this unforeseen obstacle.
