Toledo City Council has received notice of two resignations this month:
- Dr. Tiffany Preston Whitman, At-Large
Last day February 2, 2024
Appointed by Mayor Kapszukiewicz to lead the Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as Director. - Katie Moline, At-Large
Last day January 30, 2024
Selected by the Lucas County Democratic Party Central Committee as the new County Auditor.
“On behalf of all Toledo City Council and our staff, thank you to Dr. Whitman and Ms. Moline for their dedication to the residents of Toledo and their leadership in our great city,” said Council President Carrie Hartman. “I look forward to working with them in their new roles.”
Per the City Charter, Toledo City Council has 30 days to fill a vacancy through Council appointment.
To fill both vacancies, Toledo City Council is releasing today an application process. Interested applicants may visit toledo.oh.gov/councilvacancies to learn more and submit their applications.
All interested applicants are invited to submit their application by Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 11:59 pm to be considered for either Council vacancy.
“I am looking forward to welcoming two new members to our Toledo City Council team,” said Council President Hartman. “We are looking for applicants who have a commitment to the public, have strong leadership skills, and are willing to work collaboratively with their fellow members and the Administration.”
Toledo City Council plans to vote on both vacancies at their regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 4:00 pm in Council Chambers.
