Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, recently shared her views and activities through a series of tweets. Kaptur, who has been active in politics for several decades, expressed strong opinions on recent political events and shared updates on her engagements with constituents and military personnel.

On January 23, 2025, Rep. Kaptur addressed the issue of pardons granted to individuals involved in the Capitol attack. She stated that "The recent Pardon of violent felons who attacked our Capitol and assaulted law enforcement officers, injuring 174, were a sacrilege against our Republic and our Constitution." She further emphasized that these actions are seen as an affront to decency and an attack on the rule of law.

On January 24, 2025, Rep. Kaptur welcomed visitors from Oak Harbor, Ohio to the Capitol. She tweeted about this visit saying "It was a pleasure to welcome visitors from Oak Harbor, Ohio to the Capitol this week." She expressed happiness at seeing familiar faces from Northwest Ohio enjoying inaugural festivities and receiving a tour of the Capitol Building.

On January 25, 2025, Rep. Kaptur visited the 983rd Engineer Battalion alongside Lt. Gen. Robert Harter, Brig. Gen. Louis Mitchell & Lt. Col. Damon Bullock. In her tweet she mentioned "Visited the 983rd Engineer Battalion with Lt. Gen. Robert Harter, Brig. Gen. Louis Mitchell & Lt. Col. Damon Bullock." The battalion has been headquartered in Northwest Ohio since 1947 and continues its tradition of service and engineering excellence at their Reserve Center established in 1996.
