Marcy Kaptur, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, has recently shared her views on several pressing issues through social media posts. Born in Toledo, Ohio, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Kaptur continues to engage with her constituents on matters concerning environmental protection, social security, and economic stability.

On March 9, 2025, Kaptur celebrated Great Lakes Day by highlighting the importance of cross-border and bipartisan efforts to protect freshwater resources. She emphasized that these initiatives are crucial for safeguarding "20% of the fresh water on Earth." "Great Lakes Day celebrates the work we have done to protect our Freshwater Kingdom and powers the work that lies ahead. By coming together across borders and party lines, we will continue to protect these treasures which hold 20% of the fresh water on Earth."

In a post dated March 11, 2025, Kaptur addressed misconceptions about Social Security. She asserted that it is not an entitlement program but rather a benefit earned through hard work. She committed to opposing any attempts to reduce these benefits. "Social Security is not an entitlement program — no matter what anyone tries to make you believe. It is a hard earned benefit. I will always fight any efforts to cut your hard earned benefits."

Later that day, Kaptur expressed concerns about market instability due to inconsistent tariff policies. She noted that such unpredictability hampers manufacturers' ability to manage supply chains effectively and negatively impacts American workers' financial well-being. "It is uncertainty that the market does not like. Manufacturers cannot reinvent supply chains one month at a time. This constant stop and start on tariffs produces no benefits for America. Prices are rising and workers 401(k) are nosediving. This harms people's collective wealth…"
