Rep. Marcy Kaptur, currently serving Ohio’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, has expressed her views and initiatives concerning various legislative matters through her social media platform. Kaptur, a long-serving Congress member, shared her involvement in recent legislative efforts and her concerns over certain developments on April 1, 2025.

On April 1, 2025, Kaptur announced the introduction of a new bipartisan law aimed at enhancing mental health crisis response training for law enforcement. Alongside Rep. Bice, she introduced the Law Enforcement Training for Mental Health Crisis Response Act. In her words, "1 in 10 police calls involve a person struggling with mental illness—we must ensure officers have the tools they need to effectively and safely respond to mental."

Later that day, Kaptur criticized House Republicans for their actions regarding legislative measures affecting pregnant House Members and new parents. She remarked on the same date, stating that “Today House Republicans worked hard to kill legislation” that would have allowed such members the opportunity for remote voting. She added that, following this, the Speaker of the House chose to adjourn it instead of addressing cost issues affecting the American populace.

The following day, on April 2, 2025, Kaptur voiced her concerns over the current state of the Social Security administration. She alerted the public to administrative changes and technological glitches attributed to DOGE, as per her post, leading to confusion and staff depletion. Kaptur emphasized the right of Americans to their earned benefits, stating “Pay attention Americans—you earned these benefits. Nobody has the right to them—but you.”
