Rep. Marcy Kaptur, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Ohio's 9th District since 1983, shared her observations and concerns on economic and health-related issues through a series of tweets on April 6, 2025. Kaptur, who was born in Toledo in 1946 and holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, discussed national economic events and local healthcare concerns affecting her constituents in Northern Ohio.

In a tweet posted on April 6, 2025, at 2:30 am UTC, Kaptur shared scenes from the peaceful #HandsOff walk that took place in Sandusky, Ohio. She described this event as "one of many across NW Ohio and 1,000+ today nationwide" where Americans expressed their worries "about the economy, Social Security, Medicaid, education, and America’s standing in the world."

Later, Kaptur tweeted again at 2:37 am UTC, addressing the issue of tariffs. She stated, "Arbitrary tariffs are a tax on working-class Americans, and they are tanking what was the best performing economy in the world only 2 months ago." Kaptur emphasized the need to "lower prices, not making them skyrocket," highlighting concerns over the impact of tariffs on retirement accounts.

In yet another tweet posted on April 6, 2025, at 6:33 pm UTC, Kaptur focused on healthcare layoffs. She said, "Health should never be sacrificed for politics," and criticized "reckless health care layoffs" for endangering working families across Northwest Ohio. She warned that these actions could lead to "fewer protections against deadly diseases, unsafe food and RX drugs, and lost progress."
