Rep. Marcy Kaptur emphasizes NATO ties and criticizes trade policies

Representative Marcy Kaptur, serving Ohio’s 9th District since 1983, recently shared insights on significant events and policies through her social media platform. On April 8, 2025, Kaptur highlighted a commemoration event for NATO's foundation. "Last week we honored @NATO’s founding—76 years of unity for global peace and security. Alongside the @AtlanticCouncil, I convened 29 Embassies, 22 Ambassadors, 2 Defense Ministers, and 12 bipartisan Members of Congress to reaffirm our shared commitment and unified support for the" she posted on her social media, emphasizing the commitment to international security and collaboration.

In another post on the same day, Kaptur turned her attention to trade policy, stating her stance on recent trade decisions. "Senate Republicans are standing up to what we’ve known all along—arbitrary tariffs aren’t calculated, they’re careless. Trade wars won’t help American workers—they’re hurting them. Ohio manufacturers and farmers deserve thoughtful trade policy, not chaos." Through this statement, Kaptur expressed concerns about the negative impacts of trade conflicts on American labor and industry.
