On April 9, 2025, Kaptur stated her opposition to what she described as the "GOP's Billionaire Bonanza Budget." She criticized the budget for reallocating health care funds to benefit billionaires, which she claimed would burden ordinary Americans with debt amounting to $14 trillion over the next decade.

Kaptur continued to engage with her constituents through social media by voicing her efforts at the Capitol to address the ongoing issue of tariffs. In a tweet on April 10, 2025, she posted about working late into the night, aiming to mitigate the impact of a 10% tariff imposed on all goods entering the United States. She underscored that these tariffs serve as tax increases on American workers and pledged her ongoing efforts to help alleviate this financial strain.

Additionally, on the same day, Kaptur criticized the ongoing impact of what she referred to as "Trump Tariffs." She detailed how these tariffs result in higher costs across various consumer categories, including food, fuel, and construction materials, arguing that they impede economic growth and should be reevaluated to reduce costs for consumers.

Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, awarded in 1968.
