Rep. Marcy Kaptur, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Ohio's 9th district, frequently updates her constituents through social media platforms. Kaptur succeeded Ed Weber in 1983 and has been an active voice in Ohio politics, often addressing local and national concerns.

On April 10, 2025, Kaptur congratulated Luke and Harrison Spitnale for winning OH-09’s Congressional App Challenge. She expressed inspiration from "young minds shape their future and influence generations to come" and appreciated everyone's participation, looking forward to "next year’s creativity shine" in Northwest Ohio.

Later that day, Kaptur met with disability advocates from Northwest Ohio. She acknowledged the "urgent and powerful issues" they raised, highlighting concerns about potential loss of Social Security and Medicaid benefits, workplace discrimination, and marriage equality. She valued the presence of "Advocacy in Action."

On April 11, 2025, Kaptur expressed her views on Coast Guard Admiral Linda Fagan, describing her as a "trailblazer." Kaptur praised Fagan's "distinguished 40 year career" and contributions that "strengthened our nation, broke barriers, and brought pride to Ohio." However, she also noted with concern the "abrupt dismissal with only 3 hours notice."

Kaptur, born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946, graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968. She has been a member of Congress for over four decades, representing Northwest Ohio's interests and concerns. Her longstanding tenure in Congress is a testament to her enduring commitment to public service.
