Marcy Kaptur, a long-serving U.S. Congress member representing Ohio's 9th district, has taken to social media to express her perspectives on recent political and community issues. Serving since 1983, Kaptur remains an active advocate for her community, making her stance known on various topics affecting her constituents.

On April 29, 2025, Kaptur highlighted her concerns regarding the blocking of significant funding by the Department of Energy and the Trump Administration. She noted on her social media that at its "100 day mark, DOGE and the Trump Administration are blocking over $430 Billion in funding meant for our communities." This funding, according to Kaptur, was intended for essential community developments such as roads, education, and family support across different regions "It’s money for jobs to rebuild roads, support kids in schools, and help families in every ZIP code."

The following day, April 30, Kaptur celebrated Community College Month, reaffirming her support for local Ohio community colleges by noting her role in securing federal funding. She emphasized the importance of these institutions in providing pathways to success, stating, "Proud to support local Ohio Community Colleges by securing Millions in federal funding, and championing student success." She observed that community colleges foster opportunities both in Northwest Ohio and nationwide as she continues to support their mission.

On the same day, Kaptur acknowledged National Apprenticeship Day, underscoring the importance of skilled trades in the economy. She expressed that these careers are more than just jobs, describing them as the foundation of economic stability. "This National Apprenticeship Day, we recognize that skilled trades aren’t just jobs — they’re the backbone of our economy." Kaptur emphasized the benefits of apprenticeships in Northwest Ohio as a path to "stability, purpose, and pride," and as critical investments in the region's future.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, in 1946, Marcy Kaptur, aged 76, has dedicated much of her life to public service. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968 with a Bachelor's degree and continues to reside in Toledo.
