Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district, shared several updates on May 9, 2025. These updates reflect her engagement in both local initiatives and international affairs.

On May 9, 2025, Rep. Kaptur announced the introduction of a bipartisan resolution with her colleague from Northwest Ohio, Bob Latta. The resolution "proclaims May 9-18 as National American Birding Week". She highlighted that each spring, the region known as the Freshwater Kingdom attracts birders for the event known as the Biggest Week in American Birding and expressed a desire for this tradition to continue.

In another update on the same day, Kaptur commented on international relations by referring to an alliance she described as "The Spiderweb of Tyranny between Russia, China, and North Korea." She noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Moscow where he met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin while North Korean troops participated in events at Red Square. Her statement underscored her distrust of Putin and his actions.

A brief follow-up post provided a link for further information but did not contain additional text or commentary.

Marcy Kaptur has been serving in Congress since 1983 after replacing Ed Weber. Born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and now residing there at age 76, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968.
