Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, recently shared her thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. Born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and an alumna of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Kaptur has been a prominent political figure for decades.

On May 9, 2025, Rep. Kaptur acknowledged Military Spouse Appreciation Day by emphasizing the importance of recognizing the contributions made by military spouses. She stated: "On Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we honor the strength and sacrifice of those who stand beside our service members. Their quiet courage sustains our military and our nation. I remain committed to ensuring they receive the recognition, support, and care they so deeply deserve."

The following day, May 10, 2025, she highlighted National Train Day with a focus on rail infrastructure's role in economic development. In her tweet she mentioned: "On #NationalTrainDay, we celebrate the power of rail to connect communities, create jobs, and drive economic growth. For years, we've fought to strengthen rail in NW Ohio, and I’ll continue to advocate for a modern, safe, and efficient system that benefits us all."

Later that same day on May 10th, Kaptur expressed concern over economic disparities affecting small business owners compared to larger entities like the Trump Organization. She tweeted: "While the Trump Organization banks $1 Billion a month since the Inauguration, small business owners are struggling. Costs are soaring, margins shrinking, and uncertainty lurks as arbitrary tariffs create chaos." Her message called for support during Small Business Week.
