Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, recently shared her reflections and observations on various community and family events via social media.
On May 10, 2025, Rep. Kaptur commemorated Teacher Appreciation Week at Saint Benedict School. She expressed admiration for educators, describing them as "role models, mentors, and dedicated advocates for their students." She also mentioned her return to the school where she learned much in her early years and met with eighth-grade students.
The following day, May 11, 2025, she posted a message celebrating Mother’s Day, wishing that the beauty of spring would bring joy and happy memories to women who are pivotal in anchoring families and nurturing communities. She encouraged everyone to "Celebrate Mom!"
Later that day, Rep. Kaptur highlighted the opening of Laurie’s Place, a new collaborative space aimed at expanding services provided by Mom’s House and The Pregnancy Center in Northwest Ohio. She noted the successful realization of this vision during the week.
Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Now aged 76, she continues to reside in Toledo while serving her constituents.
