Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, shared her thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. The posts reflect her recognition of law enforcement officers, appreciation for military service members, and concern over economic developments.

On May 16, Rep. Kaptur acknowledged "During National Police Week, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering service of our law enforcement officers." She expressed gratitude to the Northwest Ohio communities for their support of those who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

The following day, May 17, she highlighted the deep-rooted sense of service in Northwest Ohio by stating "Service runs deep in NW Ohio as does gratitude for those who take an oath to protect our nation." She mentioned that her office displays seals from each branch of the military as a reminder of their commitment and sacrifice.

Later on May 17, Rep. Kaptur addressed recent economic concerns after Moody's downgraded the United States' credit rating. She tweeted " The United States lost its AAA credit rating yesterday when Moody’s downgraded it citing large fiscal deficits and rising interest costs." Her message highlighted compounded issues such as Trump Tariff price inflation and losses in global trade and tourism.

Rep. Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and continues to reside there at age 76. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a BA in 1968.
