Representative Marcy Kaptur, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 9th district since 1983, recently shared updates on her activities and initiatives through a series of tweets. The tweets highlight her engagement with local leaders, support for environmental initiatives, and greetings for a cultural celebration.

On June 8, 2025, Rep. Kaptur expressed her honor in joining over 100 local leaders from northern Ohio at the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Empowering Local Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. She stated that the event was an opportunity to discuss federal partnerships, strengthening cities, and community reinvestment. "Honored to join 100+ local leaders from across northern Ohio at the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Empowering Local Leadership Conference in DC."

Later that day, she marked National Fishing and Boating Week by highlighting the recreational opportunities available in northwest Ohio. In her tweet, she emphasized her pride in championing the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to maintain clean waters. "Happy #NationalFishingandBoatingWeek! From the mighty Maumee River to the shores of Lake Erie—NW Ohio offers many opportunities to cast a line or set sail."

In another tweet on June 8, Kaptur extended warm wishes for Eid Mubarak to those celebrating in northwest Ohio and globally. She conveyed hopes for peace, joy, and renewal during this time of celebration. "Eid Mubarak to all who are celebrating in NW Ohio and around the world!"

Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and continues to reside there. She is an alumna of the University of Wisconsin–Madison where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968.
