Marcy Kaptur, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, has shared several insights and events on her social media platform. Born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946, Kaptur has been an active voice for her community. She replaced Ed Weber as a member of Congress and holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

On June 16, 2025, Kaptur highlighted the joy and pride brought to Northwest Ohio by Muddy and Muddonna on #NationalMascotDay. She celebrated their contribution to community spirit through their involvement with the local baseball team.

The following day, June 17, 2025, Kaptur expressed her enthusiasm for two local mascots—Muddy and Muddonna—who are known for bringing smiles to fans at Mudhens games. She encouraged community members to attend a game to experience their energy firsthand.

Later that day, she stood with Rossford Fire Department as they welcomed four new full-time firefighters. Among them was Allison Robinson, who made history as the department's first full-time female firefighter. Kaptur praised their dedication to public service and highlighted its importance for Northwest Ohio.
