Rep. Marcy Kaptur, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 9th district since 1983, has expressed her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946, Kaptur continues to reside there and actively participates in legislative activities.

On July 7, 2025, Rep. Kaptur addressed concerns regarding veterans' welfare amid new policy proposals. She stated that "Veterans who served our country shouldn't have to choose between rent, groceries and healthcare. The new GOP Bailout Bonanza for Billionaires takes food off their plates while gutting healthcare access for them and their families." This tweet highlights her stance against recent GOP initiatives she believes negatively impact veterans and their families.

The following day, on July 8, 2025, Kaptur commented on the weather conditions affecting her region: "A very hot summer thus far in the western basin of Lake Erie, but the work goes on!" Her statement reflects ongoing efforts despite challenging environmental conditions.

Later that same day, Rep. Kaptur participated in a significant local event at the University of Toledo (UT). She shared her experience by stating: "Honored to join @UToledo leaders today to dedicate new infrastructure that gives students better access to Savage Arena, Chessie Circle Trail, and local neighborhoods." The dedication of a pedestrian footbridge across Douglas Road aims to enhance student safety and accessibility within the community.

Marcy Kaptur holds a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has been an active member of Congress since replacing Ed Weber in 1983.
