Marcy Kaptur, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 9th district since 1983, has recently shared updates on community initiatives via social media. Her recent posts highlight local events and programs aimed at fostering community engagement and support.

On July 9, 2025, Kaptur expressed her appreciation for the youth involved in the Lucas County 4-H program. She stated, "As a member of the 4-H Caucus in Congress, grateful to see Lucas County 4-H youth leading with heart and compassion! This week at the Lucas County Fair, help Stock the Trailer with non-perishable food donations for SeaGate Food Bank. Bring canned goods on July 11 to receive". The initiative encourages attendees of the Lucas County Fair to contribute non-perishable food items to support SeaGate Food Bank.

The following day, on July 10, Kaptur promoted literacy and lifelong learning through local library programs. She tweeted "It’s not too late to join Summer Read with the Toledo Lucas County Public Library or at other library systems across NW Ohio! Reading opens minds, builds community, and inspires lifelong learning. Let’s make this a summer of discovery!", encouraging participation in reading programs offered by libraries across Northwest Ohio.

Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo in 1946 and continues to reside there today. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968 with a BA degree, she has dedicated decades to public service as part of her commitment to her constituents.
