On July 14, 2025, Kaptur attended a local event and posted about it: "Joined the Port Clinton community for the Grand Reopening of the @IdaRupp Public Library. Generations to come will greatly benefit from the thoughtful renovations to this place that will give so many a chance to share stories, use their imagination, let ideas take root, and know".
On July 15, 2025, she commented on developments related to Ukraine: "Relieved shipment of critical defensive weapons to Ukraine has been renewed—including lifesaving air defensive systems. There must be repercussions for murderous dictator Putin's aggression using every tool at our disposal to help end this war. @GOP, a swift vote on Russia".

Marcy Kaptur was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and continues to reside there. She earned her BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968 and succeeded Ed Weber as representative for Ohio’s 9th district.
