Rep. Marcy Kaptur comments on ice cream tradition and economic concerns in recent posts

U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, who serves Ohio’s 9th district, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts on July 20 and 21, 2025, touching on local traditions and national economic concerns.

On July 20, Kaptur referenced a regional celebration by stating: "In NW Ohio we take our dairy seriously. Hoping everybody celebrating has two scoops on this #NationalIceCreamDay!"

The following day, she addressed rising food prices and criticized Republican policies: "No relief in sight from #Trumpflation as burger prices hit record high. Marcy Kaptur has represented Ohio's 9th District in Congress since 1983 after succeeding Ed Weber. Born in Toledo in 1946 and currently residing there at age 76, Kaptur graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a bachelor's degree in 1968.
