U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, who has represented Ohio’s 9th district in Congress since 1983, posted a series of messages on her Twitter account addressing recent legislative efforts and commemorations.
On July 25, 2025, Kaptur highlighted a bipartisan initiative involving more than 150 members of Congress that led to the restoration of $5 billion in education funding. She wrote, "Our kids are worth fighting for! It took our bipartisan effort—more than 150 Members—calling on the Department of Education and OMB to convince the White House that our children are more important than their cold-hearted politics. The following day, July 26, Kaptur recognized the anniversary of the U.S. Postal Service with a message honoring its workforce: "Celebrating 250 years for our US Postal Service today. Kaptur is currently serving as a member of Congress from Ohio’s 9th district after succeeding Ed Weber in 1983. Born in Toledo in 1946 and residing there today at age 76, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor’s degree in 1968.
