Marcy Kaptur highlights community investments during Sandusky and Toledo visits

Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a longtime member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 9th district since 1983, shared updates on community investments and visits in Sandusky and Toledo through a series of posts on July 30, 2025.

On her return to Toledo after a day in Sandusky, Kaptur wrote: "Heading back to Toledo after a superb day in Sandusky at MacArthur neighborhood at the newly revitalized Churchwell Park; also visited the Vermilion Harbor where our work with the Army Corps of Engineers continues." (posted July 30, 2025).

Later that day, she reiterated her support for local initiatives, posting: "Thrilled to celebrate the investment we made in MacArthur Park and the Sandusky community. When we invest in local communities we uplift all who live there. This will reverberate for generations to come. I will never stop fighting for our NW Ohio communities—no matter how big or" (posted July 30, 2025). Kaptur has been involved with efforts related to infrastructure improvements and federal partnerships such as those with the Army Corps of Engineers mentioned during her visit to Vermilion Harbor.

Born in Toledo in 1946 and residing there currently, Kaptur has maintained strong ties with northwest Ohio throughout her career. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a BA in 1968. As one of Congress’s longest-serving members from Ohio’s 9th District, Kaptur has focused much of her legislative work on supporting regional development and investing in local projects.
