U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, who serves Ohio’s 9th district, used her social media platform on September 10, 2025, to address recent domestic and international developments. In a series of posts, she criticized Republican health care policies and responded to escalating tensions in Eastern Europe.

On September 10, Kaptur wrote: "The GOP cut the ACA, and Medicaid, and Medicare by more than $1 Trillion to give tax breaks to Billionaires causing insurance rates to skyrocket to a 15 year high. Now on top of that, @HouseAppropsGOP are trying to cut vital health funds even deeper. Is there no shame?!?!" She expressed concern about proposed additional reductions in health funding.

Later that day, Kaptur addressed foreign policy issues related to Russia’s actions in Eastern Europe. She posted: " An incursion into Poland by Russia crosses a bright red line, as an attack on one NATO member is an attack on all. As a leader in the Congress on Eastern European affairs, I take any and all threats in this region seriously. 1/3". In another post from the same thread she stated: "Authoritarian Dictator Vladimir Putin's attack on a NATO nation's soil deserves swift condemnation and a unified response. I stand with the Polish and Ukrainian people. 2/3".

Kaptur has represented Ohio’s 9th District since replacing Ed Weber in Congress in 1983 and is recognized for her longstanding involvement with Eastern European affairs. Born in Toledo in 1946, she continues to reside there at age 76. Kaptur graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968.
