U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, who serves Ohio’s 9th district in Congress, addressed several national and international issues on her social media accounts this week.

On September 10, 2025, Kaptur commented on recent developments involving Poland's sovereignty. She stated, "I will use every lever at my disposal to urge the Washington defense apparatus to take this encroachment on sovereign Polish territory seriously. I urge my Republican colleagues and the Trump Administration to stand up and do the same. 3/3".

Later that day, she responded to a violent incident in Utah involving Charlie Kirk. In her post dated September 10, 2025, Kaptur wrote, "The shooting of Charlie Kirk in Utah is abhorrent. Political violence is a threat to democracy and must never be normalized. Extremism in America is cause for serious concern. Whether left, right, center, or none of the above, we all need to work together to lower the".

On September 11, 2025, marking the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Kaptur posted a remembrance message: "Today we remember the 2,977 lives lost in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania 24 years ago. On the anniversary of this dark day in our nation’s history I also remember brave first responders who rushed in to the Twin Towers, and Pentagon, and passengers who overtook hijackers."

Kaptur has represented Ohio’s 9th District since replacing Ed Weber in Congress in 1983. Born in Toledo in 1946 and currently residing there at age 76, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a BA degree in 1968.
