Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a longtime member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 9th district, recently shared updates on social media regarding her support for biofuels and recognition of local schools that honor military families.
On September 12, 2025, Kaptur announced her receipt of an award from Growth Energy, stating: "Honored to receive the Biofuels Champion Fueling Growth award from @GrowthEnergy. I will always work with our NW Ohio farmers, producers, and growers to ensure markets for our corn and soy including Biofuels which are clean, safe, and affordable. What America makes and grows,".
The following day, she highlighted a community event focused on honoring schools that support veteran and military families. On September 13, Kaptur wrote: "Friday Night Lights took a different feel tonight as we gathered at Ted Federici Field at Clay Memorial Stadium to honor schools that support our Veteran and Military families. Our valorous @180thFW traced the schools honored as Purple Star Schools."
In a subsequent post the same day, she added: "Flyovers also took place at Northwood High School, Anthony Wayne High School, Liberty Center and Liberty-Benson High School and Oak Harbor High Schools. Also honored as Purple Star schools Waterville Primary School, Anthony Wayne High School, Swanton Middle School and R.C. Waters".
Marcy Kaptur has represented Ohio’s 9th District in Congress since 1983 after succeeding Ed Weber. She was born in Toledo in 1946 where she currently resides. Kaptur graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree.
