U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, who has represented Ohio’s 9th district in Congress since 1983, posted a series of tweets on September 13, 2025, highlighting local school recognitions and addressing national economic concerns.

In her first tweet of the day, Kaptur shared information about area schools receiving Purple Star designations, writing: "Read more about our local Purple Star schools here: https://t.co/qHoxQhxDFJ" (September 13, 2025).

Later that evening, she praised the efforts of a local Air National Guard unit and detailed recent school honors: "Our valorous @180thFW traced the skies over Ted Federici Field at Clay Memorial Stadium as Clay High School and others were honored as Purple Star Schools last night. Addressing economic issues later that night, Kaptur commented on tariffs and inflation: "Tariffs and economic uncertainty are stifling growth and driving prices up for American families.

Kaptur was born in Toledo in 1946 and continues to reside there. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a BA in 1968. Over her decades-long tenure in Congress after succeeding Ed Weber in 1983, Kaptur has focused on both local initiatives—such as recognizing schools supporting military families—and national policy debates related to economic conditions.
