Rep. Marcy Kaptur, U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 9th district since 1983, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing economic challenges, the importance of the Constitution, and agricultural issues.
On September 17, 2025, Kaptur highlighted economic concerns affecting her constituents and communities nationwide. She wrote: "Inflation is up and job growth is down in the new economic regimen. Communities in NW Ohio and across America are feeling it."
The following day, she marked Constitution Day by reflecting on the document's significance amid national divisions. In her post dated September 18, 2025, Kaptur stated: "On Constitution Day, we remember that our founding document laid down more than laws—it enshrined our promise of: freedom, equality, and shared responsibility. In times of division and uncertainty, the Constitution calls us back to respect, to dialogue, to defend the rights of"
Later that same day, Kaptur discussed her engagement with agricultural stakeholders at a major event in Washington D.C., posting: "Welcomed Ohio’s delegation to the @NationalCorn Growers convening in Washington. Thank you for our lively discussion on a broad range of topics including biofuels, tariffs, local output and the Farm Bill."
Kaptur was born in Toledo in 1946 and has remained a resident there throughout her life. She earned her BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968.
