Rep. Marcy Kaptur, a longtime U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 9th district, shared updates on her recent activities in a series of posts on August 15, 2025.
In a post from the morning, Kaptur described her engagement with local business leaders: "Great morning with the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce discussing our shared work together to build a stronger NW Ohio." (August 15, 2025).
Later that day, Kaptur detailed her leadership in a congressional effort addressing international cybersecurity concerns. She wrote: "Led a letter to @POTUS alongside @RepLloydDoggett, @RepDanGoldman, and @RepJulieJohnson urging him to address escalating cyber threats during his meeting with Dictator Putin. Our people deserve a government that meets cyber warfare with unwavering strength, not one that leaves" (August 15, 2025). In an immediate follow-up post she added: "You can read more about our letter and our efforts here: https://t.co/eHt1eQDsLH" (August 15, 2025).
Kaptur has served in Congress since replacing Ed Weber in 1983 and continues to represent the interests of northwest Ohio’s communities. Born in Toledo in 1946 and currently residing there, she has maintained close ties to her constituency throughout her career. Kaptur is also an alumna of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she earned her BA in 1968.
