U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, who has represented Ohio’s 9th district in Congress since 1983, recently used her social media platform to address a range of national issues, including government transparency, tax policy, and infrastructure.

On September 3, 2025, Kaptur called for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. In her post she wrote: "Release the Epstein Files! The President promised their release and yet, rich and powerful interests are working to bury them. Who are they protecting? The Washington elite? The Billionaires? The politicians? Those who think they are above the law? Maybe the President himself? We" (September 3, 2025).

Later that day, Kaptur commented on legislative priorities in Congress concerning taxation and public services. She stated: "Yet again, we are going over a bill which puts Billionaires first, and slashes resources for working households. It limits the IRS' ability to ensure the ultra wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share, while cutting free tax filing services. We need to support Main" (September 3, 2025).

In another post from the same evening, Kaptur addressed energy and water policy: "Energy and Water are not optional, but essential to sustaining life. America can and must meet the new age frontiers of Energy and Water. We must not turn back the clock, but seize the baton for future generations to come. Now is the moment to keep us on a steady path forward." (September 3, 2025).

Kaptur has been a member of Congress since succeeding Ed Weber in 1983 and is currently one of its longest-serving members. Born in Toledo in 1946 and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1968 with a BA degree, she continues to reside in Toledo.
